Progression bets are nothing more than different size bets on different spins. You could get lucky and win big, or unlucky and lose even more.

It's been a while since I recorded a new, fairly new, even chance bet progression so here goes.

It's based on a 3 step process at each level.

Step 1 is to bet the unit amount 1 time.  If you win, repeat.  If you lose you will be at -1 so go to step 2.

Step 2 is to bet the unit amount 2 times.  You must win the 1st time in order to bet the 2nd time.  If you win both times, you will have won 2 units which will put you ahead by 1 unit so start over.  If you win and then lose on the second bet, you will break even, so repeat Step 2.  If you lose the 1st bet you will be down -2 so you must move to Step 3.

Step 3 is to bet the unit amount 3 times.  You must win the 1st time in order to bet the 2nd time and you must win the 1st and 2nd time in order to bet the 3rd time.  Any time you lose the 1st bet of these 3 bets, you will be down -3 and must move on to the next level.  Any time you win and then lose, you will be even and can play again.  It's possible to win and lose a few times on step 3 before finally losing the 1st bet or winning 3 bets.

The progression is easy to remember:

1
1 1
1 1 1

3
3 3
3 3 3

9
9 9
9 9 9

27
27 27
27 27 27

81
81 81
81 81 81

243
243 243
243 243 243

etc...

You can continue the progression or stop it where ever you like.

It is played D'Alembert style.  Meaning that you move to the next level if you lose all 3 steps or if you win on one of the 3 steps, you drop to the previous level.

So if I'm betting the 9 level it means that I am down 12 units.  3 units from the 1 level and 9 units from the 3 level.
If I win any step in the 9 unit level I will recover 9 of the 12 units I'm down and can drop back to the 3 level.  Since I will be still down 3 units, a win at the 3 level brings me back to even and I can drop back to the 1 level.

If I'm betting at the 9 unit level and I lose all 3 steps, I will have lost 27 more units (3X9) and will now be down 39 units.  I must move to the 27 level.  A win at the 27 level wins all 3 of the 9 unit losses from the 9 level and I must then drop to the 9 level to recover the 9 units lost at the 3 unit level.

It takes very little thought to understand this.  Maybe a couple of reads is adequate.

Please note that we can only win profit units at the 1 level.  The other levels only get us back to even.

Test carefully.  This does have a nasty bite.

In my case it doesn't matter.  I'm both!

Okay, I have egg on my face.

I've been playing around with this method and have realized that it is just a single progression line like this.

1
1
1
3
3
3
9
9
9
27
27
27
81
81
81
243
243
243

The way we are playing it is on a loss move to the next level and on at win drop back 1 level.

So if we're playing

3
3
3

It means we are down 3 units from the 1 level losses.

3  If we win this 1st 3 unit bet we are recovered and reset to the 1st 1
3  If we lost the 1st 3 and win this 3 we just move up to the 1st 3 for a repeat try
3  If we lost the 2nd 3 and we win this 3 we move up to the 2nd 3.  If we lose this 3 unit bet we will have lost 3 in a row for -9 and must move to the 1st 9 unit bet

I think this is much easier to understand.

Also, looking at the line you can understand why I said to test it before playing it for real because it can have a nasty bite.  It does a good job of recovering losses and it would take a really bad run of spins to bust it, but it can be busted so beware.

This would fall between the Fibonacci progression and the Labourchere progression as far as volatility goes.  Worst is Martingale, then Fibonacci, then this one, then Labourchere, then D'Alembert etc...

To lessen the bite, we could just play a shortened line:

1
1
1
3
3
3
9
9
9

This would be the equivalent of playing a capped martingale of 1-2-4-8-16.  If you lose on 16, you just take the loss and start over.

With this progression, if you lose the 3rd 9 you just take the loss and start over.  There will be lots of wins between total losses.  We just have to hope that there are more 1 unit wins than 39 unit losses.
