Al,
Thanks for sharing with us.
Can't say I'm sorry you are quitting since you gotta do what you gotta do.
I've considered quitting for a while myself, and then something catches my attention and off I go chasing the rainbow.
Keep and eye on the new posts. You never know.
Good luck to ya. And hope you find what you're looking for.
If you find it, let me in on the secret.
Lots of luck,
George
The important thing to always bear in mind is that roulette shouldn't take time from your main activities.
There are PRO's of course for whose their main activity is gambling.
But if you aren't one of them, then you should at all times keep roulette only as a hobby (a lifetime hobby for many even! ...but still a hobby).
Hi Victor, can you expand on that a bit please. What makes a pro a pro?
i'm amazed to hear that you've thought of quitting george, you seem to have so much energy and tenacity when it comes to testing and re-testing, re-working ideas etc.
along with posters like atlantis, katilla and thomas (not forgetting victor and i'm sure there are many more!), you give me the inspiration to carry on looking when i reach a low ebb with this seemingly eternal quest.
i'm sure i'm not the only one who's thought they were on to something, only to see it crash and burn, leaving your dream in tatters. that feeling is horrible and as i say, probably not unique to myself.
at this point, i might have a few days away from testing, but am generally lured back to it by reading posts from the above names and others.
keep the faith guys, or should i say keep on giving me the faith and hope.
cheers.
Yes let's keep the faith, but we must also respect people who want to quit. Anyway it looks like it's just a break for a few months...
Ewarwoowar, I know about the shattered dreams, your honesty is refreshing. Personally I'm not after riches, but I need cash to help me support myself through a change of career, so need to generate a decent amount every month. In the meantime, I'm not quitting the day job yet!

Living exclusively off the game, I already elaborated on my experience here:
link:://rouletteforum.cc/vls'-view/the-dangers-of-being-a-professional-gambler/ (link:://rouletteforum.cc/vls'-view/the-dangers-of-being-a-professional-gambler/)
Sometimes it definately feels like you are running around in circles looking for answers in the search for a winning method. We tend to forget that all the while we are storing up a lot of knowledge. If you decide to take up running, you can go that little bit further almost every time if you push yourself. If you are a regular gym user, you start to notice a change in your physique after only a few weeks ( well you do if you lay off the pizza after a hard workout ;) ) Roulette is different in my opinion. With roulette, I think most people will have a 'eureka' moment where all of a sudden, a lot of the pieces of the jigsaw all fit together nicely. Now this did not happen overnight. It takes years of chopping and changing, finding out what fits where and what goes with what. So next time you think of giving up, remember that you may just be that one step away from solving the jigsaw puzzle.
Good words FL.
To save years to some, bear in mind:
"The state of change is the only constant in roulette"
Once you understand this, you shouldn't be looking at fixed bets and fixed progressive schemes, but rather to malleable ones that depend 100% on how the game is performing in the spins that compose the current cycle in the present numerical stream.
In the words of an old lady by the wheel (when addressing a fixed-system player):
- Son, why don't you bet what is showing instead of what you think will show.
thx fluke for the energizin words
i only give up because of the money.
i will continue to play virtually in the chase of a steady system.
That is very true Victor.
A game that I played online tonight will show a good reason why you should never try and fit square pegs in round holes.
One of my strategies for playing trends is to group results in pairs and try and identify a pattern. A pair will contain the following results. WW, WL, LL, LW.
During one period of play, the following occured, LL, LW, LW, LL, LW, LW, LL, LW, LW.
You will notice that the first result in each pair resulted in a loss.
The bet was playing 2 dozens. So a 1/2 chance which over the course of those 9 pairs should have come out an average of 6 times on the first result in the pair came out NIL times. After the first few times, I decided to play the opposite dozen to the two I had intended to play and landed on a nice win streak. This shows the advantage of having a flexible approach over a more rigid approach. There is nothing worse than banging your head against a brick wall when a little bit of flexibility can turn what could have being a string of losing results into a string of winning ones. Of course there are no guarantees but it is worth developing a flexible approach where you try and keep in tune with what is happening in the here and now and bet with the flow of the game.

Al,
I didn't mean that I'm glad you're giving up roulette. I meant that if that's your decision, I understand perfectly where you're coming from.
We've enjoyed your participation and look forward to more in the future.
May God Bless You and Your Family,
George

Thanks a lot for your kind words. Seems to be kind of a family here. The environment at this forum is more friendly than any other i've seen.
i said i was quitting to spend money. i have to put a brake on my losses. i'm in downfall of 6 months already. just have to stop for two or 3 months till my finances recover again.
i also have a health condition with my lungs that i do not know how will be solved.
meanwhile i will continue to participate here with the same truth and tenacity.
cheers,
al
