There are so many Opportunistic Parallels with that closing statement, in your last post,
with regard to the analogy, of how we sometimes approach our Roulette play:-

As they say give an inch and 'they' take a mile. It seems 'hard-wired' into human psychology at a base level.

I'm only starting to learn those very Painful lessons myself now, after a series of wins, then loses.

Patience, concentration, and enthusiasm are prequels to starting the game, never mind the THRO play.

But the associated "taking an Inch" euphemistic approach I acknowledge as one of the Weaknesses of Humans when chasing down the disappearing Rabbit hole Progression list!

I am talking of cause , of chasing loses.

So for me, its a new day, new lesson learnt, and as Bart would put it:-

Excuse me for butting in, and perhaps I've missed the main point here, but once you give an inch shouldn't the recipient be entitled to take as many miles they want? If you don’t want people to move forward with your help, then don’t help.

Once given any gift becomes the property of the recipient and they should be entitled to do with it whatever takes their fancy.

As for scammers, we all have things to learn, and being scammed is a perfectly good lesson for many.

God bless the scammers for they provide an indispensable educational service to much of mankind.

That's about the equivalent of blessing all the BAD-ar*e teachers in the world, for doing such a "STERLING" job of bad education...... since it then gives society something to do, when it eventually finds their "Product"....( poorly taught Children),... and has to start all over again with them, but at a Slight Time disadvantage.

However this is an unfortunate example of laissez-faire politics, relativistic philosophy, and a rationale which would permit all manner of atrocities when taken to ab absurdum. A product of our time and we can be as sure as the wheel turns that these current attitudes will change. They will have to.
