Hi guys, update on my current status... and a little request!

Hello again on this fine Sunday dear friends.

These days I haven't been able to attend the forum.

Don't worry nothing wrong with me or my health, it is just the ages-old pressure of "work, work, work".

I'm stuck with delivering a program and I do not have the delight of working at my own place, hence I just can't get online as much in here, working real hard locally and when I get home I just want to rest. If wife is using the computer I don't even get the opportunity to use the home PC. I got dead tired and just don't want to burn the midnight oil since the next day I'll have to get up early and be productive.

Physical reality is something you can't escape from.

I'll be updating this thread in a while. Thanks for keeping the fort!



As to my request, it's simple: if someone wants to be a global mod for a few days send me a PM. Under normal circumstances I'm able to visit the forum daily, but right now I can't guarantee that and we need someone to step-in and take a little extra care of the community for some days.

I truely understand your situation.  In the same situation, what I do is take a week free and far from any computer except at work of course.  When out of the office, I just try to get away from home and computers : go to the restaurant with my gf, then watching a movie, go to the theatre, etc.  One week like that could be very restful.  Try it, you won't regret !

But don't destroy your health for that, it will be out when it will be done, that's all.  Good luck, and if you need help for anything, keep us informed.

Thanks mates, it is indeed tiresome enough to be all day long in front of a computer putting the neurones to work... when you get home and the "glass face" stares at you, you just want to rush out LoL

Weeks like this when I can't take work home and I must go out all day are hard, but the payment is safe so I guess that's what keeps the balance.



If I can pump some money from some services I would be delighted to work for the fellows around, but it is a chicken-and-egg problem here. Unless I have a product to offer to the community, I can't buy my hours; and until I can't buy my work hours I can't work as much in the product to offer to the community

Which leaves me to either be burning the midnight oil OR taking family time during the day...

I do hope it gets better after the initial capitalization from the tool and other services I can put up. It is the kick-start what's the problem. Starting a venture without initial capital sucks! ...But I know it gets better in time.

Try not to get overworked. Enjoy your time with the family as well.

About the financial part, what about looking for "investors" or "early birds". Like if you go for investors, there would be like a return for their money + some profit. Like if you get an investor to pay $500, you could offer to give the investor 50% of the first 1000 tipping service usages (which if I'm correct would be charged at $1 per use). Then for the next 1000 usages you give 20%, resulting in a $200(=40%) profit for the investor.
Or if you go with the early bird option, you could offer 15 usages for every $10 chipped in upfront.

If your system really is a good concept, it won't be hard to pay back for the cost. And also wouldn't take too long to reach 1000 usages or "prepaid" usages.

I think what I can offer is some sort of promotion AFTER I have the beta up & running.

i.e. when people have done their tests on it and are convinced enough, then I can offer two sessions for the price of one to be redeemed with final release, or something like this. By the means of it a win/win situation arises, people secures they get cheaper sessions initially on release and the "venture capital" flows from convinced fellows.



I would totally LOVE to make a nice extra money and buy my own hours to build software for the community, have that for sure.

We'll work something out, this promotion idea for the convinced people sounds right for a kick-start

Hello again dear friends, I'm very glad to see the board continues to work smoothly; you know the "baby" is grown up when s/he can stand by itself

If the guys enjoy being mods, I'm actually thinking in having them active on a steady basis since we have three key timezones covered



As to me; everything is working fine as I'm getting less busy and expect this "tram" to be over by the end of the week and then back to normal.

I'm glad to sign-in often again and enjoy to see you fellows on board.
