Was it Dyslexic or Manrique? I found this early reference to Cycles from 2009 long before Priyanka came back from her HG journey it seems, in 2012, as Reddwarf? Dyslexic used to also talk about the Pigeonhole Principle and was inspired by a mathematician of a similar name.
link:://:.gamblersglen.com/cgi-bin/teemz/teemz.cgi?board=_master&action=opentopic&topic=8276&forum=Roulette_Message_Board

Dyslexic was way too vague, but some things he mentioned about the average and "maximum" rings true with Priyanka's Random Thoughts.

Apparently, Manrique was also meant to have discussed Cycles on Spanish forums?

This topic from 2008 by somebody named Victor with mention of Manrique - also mentioning Cycles - seems to predate the 2009 one?

I know Manrique had published something in 2004 in Spanish. There's a few mentions of "ciclos", but I doubt they refer to Cycles proper?

falkor,
The gambler's glen page that you provided a link to is a complete joke -- it is basically a gab fest between Mr J (kj smooth) and Nathan Detroit (aka tamino) trolling one another without revealing anything substantive about cycles.

Regarding the second link, the "Victor" is none other than the former owner of both vlsroulette.com and rouletteforum.cc (this very forum that you post so frequently on).

Victor (of vls fame) is now the current owner of betselection.cc.

Just an FYI for you.

That's one of the best posts ever written - by KJ Smooth - is he really Mr J?  The only problem is with the 2000+ BR; I doubt that much is really needed at all.

Victor seems to know his stuff too! But I'm doubtful anyone was actually using cycles as far back as 2004 when Manrique published. Were there any forums discussing Roulette prior to 2005?

Oye
the key to winning with systems : play for a statistically irrelevant number of spins

Don't underestimate the power of cycles! This is what we should all be aspiring to:
QuoteAnother poster (Dyksexlic) gave me permission to post HIS method. It is only for RNG, sorry. The good news, you will NEVER lose with it. If it works great, I say thats awesome! Thank you Dyksexlic for sharing your 100% guaranteed profit system >>> The outline of my 100% Guaranteed RNG Holy Grail Bullet Proof Roulette System is this:

The system is a 38 spin repeating cycle betting routine. 38 spins is the maximum allowable length of one cycle. The minimum estimated bankroll required is 2736 units and bets are placed on every spin of the roulette wheel. The number of bets and coverage varies over the course of the cycle. The betting style is a form of flat betting which returns a 100% guaranteed profit over the course of any spin cycle. The system relies on the 'pigeonhole' principle of repeating number distribution. The object of the system is to return a single repeat of a roulette number within the spin cycle. Once a repeating number is achieved, the 38 spin cycle starts again. While it is extremely rare to run the entire 38 cycle from beginning to end, the system ALLOWS for this possibility, ensuring no loss of bankroll could possibly occur at the end of any given cycle. The system DOES return losing spins during the course of the 38 spin cycle, but it is MATHEMATICALLY impossible to produce an overall loss of bankroll at the end of any cycle. The system itself cannot be broken by ANY sequence of pseudo random numbers. The system is, to the best of my knowledge, the ONLY way to consistently win the game of roulette 100%. The system doesn't use a fixed progressive betting plan nor is it waiting for any particular event (high/low/odd/even etc.)."

Hang on, I have to get Dyksexlic over here to answer ALL questions you may have. It does not matter Spike, you will NEVER lose with this one. lol Ken

Were there any forums discussing Roulette prior to 2005?

Before 2004-2005, I don't think there were forums like the ones we have today -- vlsroulette.com, rouleteeforum.cc, betselection.cc, and x.

Much of the discussion prior to that (during the 1990s and early 2000s) took place in usenet newsgroups. It was only around 2004-2005 that gambler's glen appeared followed by rouletteforum.net and vlsroulette.com.

So Victor is a major player in the advent of roulette-specific forums with vlsroulette and rouletteforum (this forum).

He later sold both of these forums to Steve (the current Australian owner).

He then started betselection.cc and he has some non-competition clause agreement with Steve such that he (i.e. Victor) cannot start another roulette-specific forum that might provide direct competition to this forum (that's just my rough idea -- I may be a bit off about some of the details).

I did discuss Trioplay in 1999 - but no idea where that would have been. Are those newsgroups still archived somewhere?

Some of them are archived, but I am not knowledgeable about how to search for those usenet newsgroups.

You can always give it a shot by typing in whichever user name you used then (was it still falkor?) in google / bing and see if you can locate something (if there is something locatable, it will probably be somewhere several pages deep in the search engine results list).

Where to find the Archived ones?

" Were there any forums discussing Roulette prior to 2005? "

Yes there were , at least I was involved in the beginning of 1 forum. It wasn't anything like the forums you see today , it was the simple expanding " branch " type of display common to early forums and consisted of text only.

There were 3 members. There was me , an Aussie guy ( was that you Victor ? ) and a guy from the USA and I remember discussing the frequency of an even chance hitting in the second 50 spins when there was a dominance of 1 even chance in the first 50 spins.

I haven't got a clue what it was called or where it would be archived if indeed it is.

Cheers.

Where are you all gambling, what sites do you hang out on? I recently found an online casino link:://112.140.187.124/, and I was wondering if any of you are playing here. I played here for the first time a couple of days ago, and it's not clear to me yet, it seems like everything looks good, but I would like to hear your stories if you can win here. In general, I am a beginner in poker and I want to learn how to play professionally in order to make a living from it, like at work. A couple of times I was lucky, but it's not enough for life. If you are professionals, I would like to listen to your stories.
