I know we all heard the stories of people making money with some fancy system they invented, just to find out it was all lies. We all have been scammed some way or another trying to find a way to win at Roulette. I heard stories of people averaging 300-400 dollars a day playing roulette. I always thought roulette would be a good way to earn a little bit of extra cash if you truly know how to play the game but every time I play, I end up staying too long or having poor money management skills. It is like taking one step forward then taking two steps back.

My question to the board members is this.

Are there anybody on here that makes a living playing roulette and nothing else? And if so, how much of a bankroll did you need to get started?

MumboJumbo

Well we all trying, let say I testing one serious system for now, if I survive will tell you.

I know many successful roulette players, and very few of them rely solely on roulette income. Almost every has multiple income streams.

Beating a wheel is rarely a problem. You can beat almost every wheel one way or another. The problem is mostly avoiding detection.

I will give some realistic suggestions.

One option is to have savings for one year and take one year vacation from work.
For example 10K for making a living and pay bills and 5K bankroll.
Then play with 4$ units or lower amounts during one year and see if you can get positiv net gain each month.
If yes then you can quit work and play with bigger unit size and make a living.

But that is not true, because you will get limited and banned from most online casinos for winning to much.
And land based casino might do the same.
So in the end, even if you know how to win you might not be allowed to win.

Other solution is to quit work and get insurance from government 80% insurance money based upon your salary.
Then having minimum 5K bankroll and build it up to 10 or 15K during one year.
Now you continue to getting insurance money after one year from the government, but only 60%
And you continue to play as professional with some degree of guarantee of income.
This solution look different from different country, but most people has some kind of insurance if they don't have work.
That is a pretty clever way, because if you don't make it you can start working again and you did not burn your savings.

And there is some other issues being a professional gambler, you get no pension points as you don't work for a living.
So your expectation is to get minimum pension from the government, in my country its around 700 Euro plus taxes.
If you work your hole life then you get one salary as pension and can live a regular life from age 65 and so on.
But if you pick the life as professional gambler you have to know how to win big, very big and travel around to collect does winning.
Because if you attack one wheel more then once and win 5 or 10K you will maybe not be welcome back.

Other issues is what you do with health issues, assume you get sick and your income is from gambling.
Well then you might be better of building a strong bankroll so you can pass does days or weeks when you get sick.

Is all about risk management.

The reason you don't see this kind of discussion every day is because people don't know how to win.
Any punter could save to 5K bankroll and take one year off from work and still get some degree of income to make a living during one year or more. That would give the person plenty of time to build a bigger bankroll and become full time professional.
But that is not happening.

During my 10 years on gambling forums i had cross roads with less ten five person who play for a living.
They don't spend much time on gambling forums because all you can read is nonsense.
And nothing will make you winner as all system fail and is the persons risk management skills that make you a winner - my opinion.

Cheers
Denial of gamblers fallacy is usually seen in people who has Roulette as last option for a way to wealth, debt covering and a independent lifestyle.  Next step is pretty ugly-
AP - It's not that it can't be done, but rather people don't really have a clue as to the level of fanaticism and outright obsession that it takes to be successful, let alone get to the level where you can take money out of the casinos on a regular basis. Out of 1,000 people that earnestly try, maybe only one will make it.

In agreement with this, I don't think it is possible to rely on roulette for an income.

Yes you can make a living playing roulette. It helps if you know satistics and also have good back up systems.
I recomend that you practice at home first and be a winner before you go to any casino.

At present, only poker and baccarat (amongst casino gambling games) can provide for an income (that too only for a select group of gambling-savvy and big-bankrolled individuals).
What is the fastest way of destroying your bankroll at the casino?

Play roulette with GLC's progressions.

There's no doubt it can be done. Its just that the income is unpredictable. Its not a regular paycheck like a job. In any case its smarter to have multiple incomes.

You wouldn't believe what some teams do.  one session is an annual wage for some people. But when you earn more you spend more. Can u do 90k in a week? Yes. Its just one organized hit. Then its split between the team. But for average lone players its a different approach and a lot more work

It's a lot harder if you do it alone, it's always better to work with a partner who covers each others back.

If you want to stay under the radar you need to bet standing with the crowd at the manual tables. Bet size at the high end of normal bets so you don't attract attention. But then again it depends on your method.

then there is the "problems of having too much money"
if you are a successful player

i.e. IRS poking through your finances,
appearance of 'money laundering' (esp if you play online)
