Guetting Progression Looms Large

Dear Fellow Punters,

I think that in the light of my current focus, I would like to pursue playing roulette with positive progressions.  In particular I am looking at the Guetting Progression.

There are a couple of discussions on how to play it that I have read.  One is the method presented at Win-Maxx which is the classic Guetting Progression and the other is the tweak that Victor presented which is more of a grinder method.

Without getting too bogged down in details, what experience has any of you had betting this method?  If it doesn't tend to do better than negative progressions, it might not be worth my time to test some methods.

Thanks for any comments,

George
In my case it doesn't matter.  I'm both!

I have tested this scheme long time ago, and it does not work well, maybe in a game with lower house edge it would be ok, but not much good for a roulette. Idea of locking profits is good though. I post some of my tests of Guetting there, it is not bad in midterm if you are lucky, but if unlucky, it is just slow fall.

EDIT: I have it wrong. What is below is little modified version of guetting...

Not very encouraging Mr. Ore.  What was your bet selection method and what was the tweak to the Guetting progression?

In my case it doesn't matter.  I'm both!

Bet selection - none. "Tweak" - after one win, step one up, after one loss, go back to the first bet of same level.

In real Guetting one should increase only after two wins, and if WL, then remain same bet if I understand it correctly. If lose the first bet after increase, drop to the first value of lower level. I repaired the code, but the result seems even worse. This progession could be useful only if you can catch winning streaks often enough. But then you could use any positive progression, like reverse labby.

This thing is just slowly losing... I hope I have it correct now, bet selection would take more time, I have it coded as state automata which is done with a simple table, only few lines of code. For testing purposes, I thing bet selection is useless.

So, from what I'm seeing in your tests, you have to have a really good hit rate on the bet selection to win with this progression.  And, if you have a good enough bet selection to win with the Guetting Progression, you can probably win with a negative progression also.

Can't say I'm too surprised.

Thaks, Mr. Ore.

Anybody else have a different take on this thing?

In my case it doesn't matter.  I'm both!
