I'm going to present this method quickly without a lot of explanations.  If anyone is interested, please ask questions and I'll reply.

Start out with a line such as the following 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1.

When we clear this line, we will be up 10 units.

We begin by betting the leftmost number.  If we win, we cross it off and our line looks like: 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1.
If we lose, we add it to the rightmost end and our new line looks like this: 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1.
Back to if we win.  After we win, we add the two end numbers together and bet them.  If we lose, we add the total loss to the right end of our line.
If we win this 2nd time in a row, we add the 2 leftmost numbers with the rightmost number for our next bet.
Example: 1-1-1-1-1-1-2-3-4-4. This is our starting line.
Our first bet is 1 unit (our leftmost number)
If we win we cross of the 1st 1 in our line and next we bet the sum of  the two end numbers or 1+4=5 units.
If we win this bet, we cross of the 2 end numbers and our line will look like this 1-1-1-1-1-2-3-4.
Since we have won 2 times in a row, we now bet the sum of the 2 leftmost numbers (1+1 in this case) plus the rightmost number (4 in this example) so, 1+1+4=6 units bet.
If we lose write 6 to the right end of our line.  Our line will look like this: 1-1-1-1-1-2-3-4-6
If we win we cross off all three numbers we bet and our line will look like this:  1-1-1-2-3.
Continue to play until you have either cleared the line completely or until you have reached a new high bank.  You choose.

Summary:  Bet 1 number until you win and after every loss.  Bet 2 numbers after any 1st win.  Bet 3 numbers after any 2nd win in a row.  Continue to bet 3 numbers until a loss, then return to betting 1 number until another win.

The purpose of betting this way is that it takes advantage of winning streaks and minimizes losses on losing streaks.

The sequence that will hurt us is WWLWLWLWWLWWLWLWL etc...

Test it and see if it suits your betting personality.

I've never understood the fascination with Labouchere; it makes no sense at all to me.

All Labouchere does is keep track of your goal; you can do that with just one number.

Instead of 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1  just write down 10; your goal.

Then you bet what you feel comfortable with, like 1 or 3 or whatever.

You then subtract your winnings from your goal or add your loss to the goal.

All this gibberish of crossing off the 1st and last number is just mumbo-jumbo.

Now you know just how far your goal is away, like 15 instead of 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-3

Labouchere forced you to take your goal of 10 and already you are 50% (15) away - how good is that?

But that's just my opinion, it means little. . . .

Sounds like another way to track a labby.  I like it.

With this bet method a WWL doesn't help because after the 1st W we must bet the sum of 2 numbers and if we win our 2 number bet, we must bet the sum of 3 numbers.  Which will be a loss.  Maybe the WWLWLWWLWWLWLWL isn't that bad, but for the method to work, we need three  or more wins in a row every now and then.  Otherwise, it keeps slowly climbing up the bet size scale.

11223344 if this is our line and we bet 1 unit and win = +1
Our next bet is 1+4=5, a loss leaves us -4 for the 2 bets.  
A win on our 2nd win leaves us at +6.
Our third bet will be 2+2+4=8.  A loss leaves us at -2 for the 3 bets whereas a win leaves us at +14 for the 3 bets.  
A 4th win will clear the line.

What I should have said was that a sequence of wins and losses without 3 or more wins in a row doesn't help us.  This method depends on triple and quadruple wins to clear the bet line.

I haven't played with this much at all, just had the idea.  When the Wins vs Losses are choppy, it doesn't make any headway at all.  It's kind of like treading water waiting for a win streak to surge ahead.  When we're betting 3 numbers at a time, it doesn't take many wins to clear a string of numbers.

I just played a quick game betting Follow-The-Last on R/B.  I tested this series of spins with both the Ultimate and Standard Labouchere.  Both methods started with 1-1-1-1-1 bet line.

The Ultimate Labouchere results were:

32 spins
18 Losses
14 Wins
-15 Largest draw down
9  Largest bet
+5

Note:  There was 1 streak of 4 wins in a row  and a final streak of 3 wins in a row in this series of R/B bets.  The last streak cleared the line.

Standard Labouchere results were: 

28 Spins
17 Losses
11 Wins
-93 Largest draw down
29 Largest bet

Note:  The standard Labby cleared the line after only 1 streak of 4 wins.  It didn't need the remaining 4 spins which were a Loss followed by 3 in a row win steak.

Note the difference in draw downs with the Ultimate Labby of -15 verses the standard Labby of -93.  Also note the difference in largest bet size of 9 with Ultimate vs 29 with the standard, and the ultimate largest bet of 9 was the last bet.

I know that a different series of spins would result in a different outcome, but I am impressed with the ultimate's performance.

Test it for yourselves and see what it can or can't do.

One word of caution.  If we play for too long without some 3 in a row and 4 in a row win streaks, our bets will become larger and larger.  This method can win quickly when the deviation between losses vs wins is fairly normal, but when losses start pulling ahead of wins by a larger than normal amount, as with all progressions, the bets can escalate.

Test this thoroughly to see how much bankroll you need to be able to survive a bad run of luck.
