This popular riddle is a good quick exercise for the brain. It is said to have been invented by Albert Einstein in his childhood. It's also known as the Zebra Puzzle and there are several slightly different variations. You'll find the correct answer in Google.

My first reaction was what the web-solution to that riddle termed the "reductive" solution... that no fish was mentioned in any of the hints, thus none of the neighbors necessarily owns one.

I wrote "reaction" because, proceeding with the "inferential" solution (, trial and error, over and over again,) may as well be considered a lesser form of intelligence instead of a higher one.

So, i didn't bother... there being no elegant "short cut" to it.  And i severely doubt that that was the work of Einstein, who was labeled a "slow learner" in his youth by his teachers.
