I've been playing roulette online for about a year now, one of my coworkers and I have a little contest about who can win the most (starting with $100) in a week.  Kinda goofy, but its fun. . . and whoever wins gets pays for drinks Friday night.

He's been using the <removed by admin, this is the traditional casino affiliate site promoting with a sleeper dozen + progression system> system recently, and is beating me pretty badly.  I usually make $75-$150 and he made that in a day last week (at work LoL).

Can anyone tell me why it is working? I'd love to understand the math behind it.

Hello RedKing. Welcome to the forum.

QuoteCan anyone tell me why it is working? I'd love to understand the math behind it.

Redking, I good-willingly advice you to bag your current wins and to simply stop betting this way.

If you choose to continue, feel free to ride your lucky streak; but set a "maximum give-back amount". Say 50% of the net you've amassed.

"Why it is working?" Well, you simply haven't encountered a long-enough sleeping dozen cluster to wipe your bank.

Said straightforward: this system doesn't work. If you wish fellow members of this community can provide you with the long-term proof of this. These sleeper + progression systems are very easy to code in a computer since it is all mechanical.

Redking, please be wary of sites like this. They are used by casino affilliates to boost their income at expenses of the un-saavy/newcomer players.

There are pages all over the net being setup by casino affiliates that use bad system advice on purpose. Martingale (double-up on red/black) was their former trade, but people busted too quickly, so now these affiliate target the 2-1 payouts, where a person can last longer and so has a bigger chance to even "thank" the creator of the affiliate site for the "advice", and in some cases show gratitude by signing-up to the advertised casino, exactly what the affiliate wants.

Explore the game, ask fellow members, run your simulations, get a style of play according to your desired risk-acceptance and volatility and become more experienced organically, naturally. No need to take all the losses players usually incur before learning. This is why forums are there. You can also go to UXsoftware.com and get roulette xtreme and start exploring with the sample systems there. So you can get a feel of how the system charts usually go for mechanical systems and see how some different outside and inside systems behave, getting familiar with their drawdowns, etc.

Morality: There are decent methods out there and this isn't one. Stay away! No need to lose you as a potential "roulette learner" by ending up disappointed by these type of systems, as with many players who use such methods at the beginning of their "roulette players life".

Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Hi mate

You might get lucky for awhile but sooner or later that system will tank big time. It's just a doz/col based system with typical progression.  doz/col  can sleep for over 40 spins. No progression can match that. Be careful. :)

Well put Victor.

Take Victors advice mate. I would hate to see you lose money on this. Stick around..there are many  experienced people on this forum from which you can learn alot from.

Martingale is the most foolish progression ever made. Why should someone risk 63 units to earn just 1. Only one loss in 63 games finishes all your earnings and if more losses come just imagine the volume of losses.
