Double Dozens with a kick!

Here's a double dozen bet progression that's pretty solid.  I'm not claiming that the draw down can't get pretty steep but with a decent bankroll, the recovery rate is excellent.

For those of you who have to bet $10 - $25 units, I don't see how you can play anything except a flat bet without having a heart attack.  This progression, as with all negative progressions, can get your heart beat climbing every now and then.  But, if you can find a way to play for $1 - $5 units, you might be interested in this system.

The bet selection is pretty straight forward.  We must have a dozen hit 3 or more times in the last 5 spins.  Then we bet on the other two dozens.  So, if we get 1-2-1-1-3  we bet on the 2 & 3 dozens.  If we get 2-1-3-2-1 we have no bet because no dozen hit 3 times.  If we get 1-3-1-1-1, this qualifies for a bet on the 2 & 3 dozens.  Here's how to say it another way.  If we will bet on the 2 dozens that showed the least in the last 5 spins unless 2 dozens hit 2 times each.  If that happens, it's impossible for a dozen to have hit 3 or more times in the last 5 spins.  A zero is ignored and treated as a non-spin for tracking purposes and a loss for betting purposes.

The progression is in sets of 4 bets.  They are 1-1; 1-1; 1-1; 2-2.  This is a positive progression hung on a negative skeleton.  What I mean is that we bet 1-1 and if we win, we then bet the second 1-1.  If we win both bets, we bet the 3rd 1-1.  We must win all 3 of these bets before we can bet the 2-2 bet.  If we lose either of the 1st two bets, we move to the next level in the progression line.  If we win the 1st 2 bets and lose the 3rd bet, we break even and can replay the 1st bet.  In other words if we win the 1st 1-1 and the 2nd 1-1 we will have won 2 units which gives us a free shot at the 3rd 1-1.  If we happen to lose it, we lose our 2 won units and we start that set over.  If we win the 3rd 1-1 bet, we go on to the 2-2 bet.

Our progression line is 1-1; 2-2; 3-3; 4-4; 5-5; 6-6; 7-7; 8-8 etc...  Any time we have a loss (other than on the 3rd bet) we move 1 step to the right in our progression line.  Whenever we win a 4 bet set, we drop back 3 steps in the progression line.  So, if we're betting at the 5-5 level and we win all four bets, we drop back to the 2-2 level and continue until we reach a new high bank balance.

Sometimes we will reach a new high bank balance before we have bet all 4 bets in a set.  If we do, we should re-set to 1-1 in our progression line.  This will happen in the small bet sizes.  So, if we are -8 and are betting at the 3-3 level, 3 wins at 3-3 is 9 units won which recovers our 8 unit deficit so no need to risk making the 6-6 bet.  On the other hand if we're at -26 units and are betting at the 5-5 level, three wins at 5-5 is only +15 so we must make the 10-10 bet.  A win here will net us 25 units so we drop back three levels to the 2-2 level.  A win on the 1st 2-2 bet will put us at +1 so we can re-set.

That's the basic system.  Following are some comments to help us understand the inner workings of the system.

If we lose the 1st bet in a set, we will have lost 2 units.  If we win the 1st bet and lose the 2nd bet, we will have lost only 1 unit.  If we win the 1st 3 bets and lose the 4th bet, we will have lost 1 unit.  So you see, we either lose 2 units, lose 1 unit or win 5 units per set.  Since we move one step to the right on any loss and 3 steps to the left on a win of a 4 bet set, it is possible to lose 6 units in the last 3 sets and since we only win 5 units in a set, we could work our way back to 1-1 and still be in the hole.  This is not that common and is worth it to get back to 1-1 as quickly as possible.  As a matter of fact, to keep our bets smaller, we could move 4 levels to the left on a win.  I think this is something worth testing if you have to play for high dollar units.  As a matter of fact, I'm leaning more this way because of the safety factor and we can still reach a new high by the time we get back to 1-1 if we don't lose a lot of 1st 1-1 bets.  (Please remember that when I say we will lose 1 or 2 units or win 4 units, it's times whatever level you're playing at).

Finally, if you think about it, this is a system based on the Gambler's Fallacy of the "Due" concept.  As the Wizard of Odds will tell us emphatically, nothing is ever due in roulette.  This is the opposite of Ignatus' latest dozens system where he is betting for a trend.  We're both dancing with Gambler's Fallacy so play at your own risk.  And as Tamino says it's for entertainment purposes only.  I like that statement.

Please can you clarify the amounts for the levels after level one.

For instance is level 2:

2-2, 2-2, 2-2, 3-3

or is it:

2-2, 2-2, 2-2, 4-4 ?

A.,  It's 2-2, 2-2, 2-2, 4-4.  There are 2 other possibilities.  2-2, 2-2, 4-4 or 2-2, 2-2, 2-2, 6-6.

2-2, 2-2, 4-4 is the safest version since it only requires three wins in a row.

I got the bet from a system called something I can't remember along with 777.  I don't know what the 7's have to do with anything.
1-1, 1-1, 1-1, 3-3 is the original bet sequence.  Seemed pretty aggressive to me so I tamed it to 1-1, 1-1, 1-1, 2-2.  A reasonable compromise in my book.

2-2, 2-2, 2-2, 3-3 is also reasonable.   It's just a little more aggressive than a flat bet.  If the dispersion doesn't last too long it can also have recovery power.

I keep asking myself what is the advantage of the above sequence over a 4 step double dozen positive martingale.  Like this:

1-1, 1-1, 2-2, 3-3
2-2, 3-3, 4-4, 6-6
3-3, 4-4, 6-6, 9-9
4-4, 6-6, 9-9, 13-13
6-6, 9-9, 13-13, 19-19
etc...

It's still built on winning 4 times in a row and, other that the 1-1 row, you only lose the value of the 1st bet at each level if you lose after a win on bet #1.

I keep realizing that every progression has pros and cons.  Some may fit certain bet selection methods better than others but determining that can be a major effort and time investment.

I was playing around with MrJ's "Bloody String Method" using a Line bet.  It's only 1 more number and all you have to bet is 1 unit to cover all six numbers.  I would play until I get 4 hits in the Line before moving to the next Line.  If I didn't get a hit within 2 spins I added 1 unit to the bet size.  It's surprising how effective the bet can be.  Occasionally the bets get pretty high, but they always recovered.

Anther way is to play until you reach a new high balance on each line then move to the next line.

Go figure.
